Our Story

Founded in 1962 by Marvin Randle, Irving Counter Top began operations initially focused on plastic laminate countertops. As time progressed, new products were introduced and ICT continued to remain progressive by offering countertops fabricated of cultured marble in the 1970’s, acrylic solid surface in the 1980’s, granite in the 1990’s, and quartz in the 2000’s. Today, we continue this tradition by offering many new and specialty products.

Over the years, both Irving Counter and its founder, Marvin, have been involved in numerous industry and civic activities. Marvin served as President of the Home Builders Association of Dallas, recipient of the Hugh Prather award for service to the industry, and helped to develop many neighborhoods and areas of Irving during the 1970’s-2000’s. Marvin also served as Mayor of Irving, Texas from 1977-1981, is a past member of the Irving Arts Board, and was Co-Chair of the City of Irving’s 100 Year Anniversary Centennial celebrations committee. Today, he remains active in the business and civic community. Marvin retired in 2021.

In early 2023, in recognition of Marvin’s and Irving Counter’s decades of service, volunteer work, and charitable contributions, Irving Counter received the City of Irving Mayor’s Award for Corporate Excellence.

The tradition of excellent service and civic duty continues with Marvin’s sons: Randy, graduate of UTA, BBA in Accounting, specializing in account services, in the past served on the Irving City Council and currently is on the Irving ISD School Board; Dewayne, registered architect and graduate of Texas A&M, Bachelors of Environmental Sciences and Master’s in Architecture, specializing in construction management; and John, specializing in granite fabrication. As co-owners, Randy, Dewayne, and John bring a level of expertise unmatched in knowledge of the counter top business and continue to offer community support through Irving Counter and individually.

ICT has continued to expand and grow along with North Texas, and has remained in Irving to take advantage of its central proximity in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Currently located on 8 acres with over 70,000 square feet of fabrication facilities, Irving Counter is poised for growth and positioned to meet future needs of our customers.

Is there a fee or charge to have someone come out and measure for countertops to receive a quote?
No, we do not charge any measure fee, deposit, or otherwise to come out and measure your order to figure a quote.

What is your service area?
We service the greater DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) metroplex and outlying cities, roughly within 60-65 miles of our location in Irving. Beyond that, trip charges may apply depending on job scope and distance from our location.

Do you offer any stock, damaged/’open box’, or any other type of readily available countertops for purchase?
No, we only fabricate custom order countertops.

Do you offer a stone or quartz remnant program?
No, we do not have any type of remnant program.

Do you only install countertops or do you offer other services?
We only fabricate countertops and related residential/commercial products using countertop materials, but we do offer pickup and delivery services in addition to installations for laminate countertops and select other countertop products.
